Forest School

At Ben Jonson Primary School we are fortunate to have a large, natural woodland area that can used for outdoor learning and Forest School experiences. Forest School experiences offer children at Ben Jonson the opportunity to continue their learning outside the classroom through hands-on, practical experiences. Children thoroughly enjoy being outside in nature, exploring the natural world around them and having the freedom to lead their own learning.  Some examples of Forest School activities include mini beast hunts, natural arts and crafts, den building, mud painting, digging, wildlife observations and potion making. Through these experiences children work closely with adults to develop many important skills, with a focus on their social and emotional development, communication and language skills and physical development.
